Staff Update Day 1
Location: West End, Tortola
The staff aboard Mambo is so excited for this session. Captain Greg and Evan are coming back to dive side after a session on sail side. They are excited to do more advanced diving this session. Team Canada, Cayley, and Meg are ready for another great session and are excited to work on their sailing skills. Together the four of us have loaded food on the boat and filled up the water tanks. The only thing left to do is greet our smiling shipmates! With so much to do in a short time, we are all on top of our game and ready to hit the water running!
Here is an introduction to the crew of Mambo:
Greg- skipper/dive instructor
Greg is a captain and dive instructor year round in the Virgin Islands. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater in 2009 with a BBA in Operations Management. Shortly after he moved to Thailand and became a PADI scuba instructor. This is his second year at ActionQuest and will be helping with the advanced scuba programs.
Meg- dive instructor/mate
Meg is from central Canada, and after completing her BSc and MSc, she went traveling to the Caribbean where she did her PADI Instructors and Master Scuba Diver Trainer. Following the Caribbean, her travels took her to Europe, where she completed her RYA skippers certification. For the past year, Meg worked off the west coast of Canada on commercial fishing vessels as an At-Sea Observer, but always managed to find time to travel, dive, and ski. This is Meg's second year with ActionQuest.
Evan- dive instructor/mate
Evan was born in Buffalo, New York and lived the first ten years of his life along the east coast of the United States. After that, he moved to the Middle East to spend his next eight years in Doha, Qatar. After graduating from high school in Qatar, he moved back to the US to attend university. As of this summer, he is a rising sophomore at the University of Miami studying Marine Science and Biology. He spends most of his weekends underwater with the University of Miami Scuba Club. After three trips with AQ as a shipmate, he decided to come back as a PADI Scuba Instructor (with MSDT and EFR ratings) along with side specialties in DAN O2 First Aid and Equipment Repair.
Cayley- dive instructor/mate
Cayley hails from Vancouver, Canada. After graduating from the University of British Columbia with a double major in geography and Asian studies, she began splitting her time between diving in SE Asia and working as a tour guide aboard a whale watching boat in Western Canada. When she's not in or on the water, you'll find Cayley on the ski hills, or playing outside in general. This is Cayley's first year with ActionQuest.
