British Virgin Islands - 2012, Session 2

Staff Update Day One

Location: West End, Tortola

Today was a very busy day! The staff of Mambo was working very hard to get everything for the arrival of our shipmates. All the food was carefully put away, and all the dive gear is on board and ready to go. Blair arrived from the Florida office yesterday, and she is so excited to meet all the new shipmates, and of course, see the returning ones again! Tina was on the program in the last session as a dive instructor and can't wait to help the students with their Dolphin and Neptune courses. Sam, our divemaster, is eager to start his first session as staff with us. We can't wait for another great session to start!

Here is an introduction to the crew of Mambo:

Blair- skipper/dive instructor

Blair has worked for ActionQuest for five years. This is her fourth summer as a captain and PADI master scuba diver trainer. She also works in the ActionQuest office full time. Blair is so excited to see shipmates from all over the world and teach them their PADI advanced open water course with the Neptune program. She loves coming back each year to share her love for diving and sailing with every student.

Tina- dive instructor/mate

After spending several months abroad with ActionQuest's Sea|Mester in 2008, Tina became absorbed with the marine world. She graduated from Bard College with a BA in Environmental Studies in 2010, after which she turned her attention to scuba diving. Tina has worked as a Divemaster and Instructor in Central America, Europe, and the US. She holds qualifications such as PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, Emergency First Response Instructor (including Care for Children), and nine specialty instructor ratings. She is also an avid underwater photographer. When not underwater Tina can be found playing her viola, studying towards a Master's in Secondary Science Education, and planning her next dive.
