Blue Venture

Blue Venture has proven herself an amazing vessel after last session's stellar performance. It's easily said that both Meghann and I are excited to take it off the dock once more. We are all caught up on sleep, the vessel has been "fooded," and water and fuel are topped off. To say our hopes are high is an understatement. We are thrilled and have set our sights higher than ever with what we plan to accomplish.

Here is an introduction to the crew of Blue Venture:

Matt- skipper/dive instructor

After graduating from high school in eastern North Carolina, Matt's passion for science and the marine environment culminated in him receiving a research grant from NC State University. He continued his studies at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and held a combined degree in Marine Biology and Marine Technology. While at university, Matt became a PADI dive instructor and the Assistant Dive Safety Officer at the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher. After graduating, he began traveling, teaching and sailing throughout the Caribbean. Matt joined ActionQuest in 2010 as a Marine Biology and Scuba instructor and now works full-time with both ActionQuest and Sea|mester.

Meghann- dive instructor/mate

Meghann is from Auburn Hills, MI and between the Great Lakes and scuba diving in the ocean, has never been far from the water. Meghann attended Oakland Community College and graduated in 2009 with an Associates Degree in Architecture. Meghann previously worked at an adventure summer camp in the Florida Keys, working her way up to Advanced Open Water through Divemaster and in 2010, she became a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. Meghann joined ActionQuest in 2011 and is an instructor for our Advanced Scuba Diving programs.
