Javi is a Spanish diving instructor. Before becoming part of the underwater family, he studied psychology and worked for the social services for 5 years. There, he worked as a mentor for teenagers separated from their families. It was a very rewarding and also demanding job, and it taught him to be sensitive, empathic, and patient. On a summer holiday he discovered diving and got hooked by it, then dove for a couple of years to gain experience until he became a diving instructor in 2016. Since then he has taught in the Canary Islands, where he lived the last year, and also for some months in Thailand. He loves to teach diving because of its cooperative essence, the beauty we can find when we visit the underwater world, and the feeling it enacts on us to preserve nature. His vision is that, in diving, we educate in skills but also in human values.
