What exactly is it that draws us to the ocean?

Is it the fact that every day is new and different on the sea? Perhaps it’s the fact that scientists estimate that there are literally thousands of undiscovered species swimming around in the deep sea.

Maybe we’re drawn to the ocean by forces we can’t fully explain – as John F. Kennedy famously stated, “All of us have in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea — whether it is to sail or to watch it — we are going back from whence we came.”

Whatever the case may be, the ocean is as fascinating as it is vast – Dive into the video from Tech Insider below to learn some deep ocean facts and gain some perspective on the depths of our ocean. And of course, check out our marine biology summer camp program to start your own adventure!
