Location: English Harbour, Antigua

Today we had an early start getting out of Antigua after some unexpected delays, but we were off by 6 am to begin passage! Most people started waking up around 7:30 am, and we had a nice breakfast of bagels and cream cheese after positioning our sails correctly. Watch team 2 (Ella, Emilia, and Mason) started us off strong and kept their eyes peeled for any lobster pots or boat traffic. Before long, it was lunchtime! Our chefs prepared a delicious deli sandwich spread, and we all enjoyed it. Watch Team 1 (Rainey, Adam, and Ainsley) sailed us expertly through some small squalls and changing wind direction. Soon it was dinner time, and we had pasta with broccoli and garlic bread. After a beautiful sunset, we began our night passage. There wasn’t a ton of traffic, but we did see some cargo ships. The stars were absolutely phenomenal, and we even put the Bimini down to catch a better look. Watch team 3 (Gala, Brennan, and Julia) really enjoyed stargazing and even think they saw UFOs! Shona and I had a great time on this passage and are so proud of everyone for how far they’ve come and how confident everyone is at sailing now!
