Location: Antigua
Today we woke up at 7 am to find out that we had shore time. Most of us spent free time getting snacks to prepare for the 34-hour sail we would do to travel back to the BVIs. While Miranda, Jonathan, Alex, and Noah walked around Antigua one more time, Audrey and I did some last-minute souvenir shopping. Soon we were preparing for the longest sail we would be doing this whole trip! We did our departure checklist and undocked. The last thing we had to do was fill up Wombat with diesel. We were close to being done when someone smelled diesel down below. It turns out that some of the fuel spilled! Missy, Benzie, and Nick had to drain out all the extra diesel, and while they were cleaning, all us students went to Shape Up (our sister boat) for dinner and to hang. Once the staff finished cleaning, it was safe to go back! The spill put us back a day, but luckily we gained it back by sailing super fast the next day!
