Location: St. Barths
Hi guys, it’s Rainey. I’m here to update you about what is going down on Shape up! This day was lit, and we did lots of work practicing sailing and bonding as a group. We got up really early in the morning, and most of us set off on a hike on an island off the coast of St. Barts. The hike was def challenging but also super rewarding, resulting in a beautiful view. I really enjoyed watching my friend Emilia channel her inner goat and climb a mountain with both style and ease. Once we got back from the hike, many of us had cereal. However, my cabin mates Gala and Ella had some delicious and yummy avocado toast from the avocados we bought the previous day. Right after breakfast, we quickly did the pre-departure checklist so we could get underway to Statia. I was skipper, so I got to help everyone get going, and it was super fun. Once we were underway, my watch team, Adam and Ainsley, started to watch at 11 AM. There were quite a few squalls in the ocean, so it was hard to watch. But nevertheless, we made it through. Right after my watch was over, I hurried to the blue lagoon to take a fat nap. I was suddenly awoken about 20 minutes later to the news that we had made it to Statia. We all did a little boat appreciation and then had a yummy snack of watermelon before taking a relaxing swim. After our swim, Emilia, Ella, Julia, Ainsley, and I all hung out on the bow and had a little bonding session. We then showered, and WOW, was I impressed by Brennan’s (AKA BMoney) cannon balls and dives. While others were taking their time getting ready, Mason and Ainsley was cheffing us up a meal which, in my humble opinion, was one of the best of the sessions so far. Ily risotto and caesar salad. After dinner, we completed squeeze, which consisted of a very interesting question about toddlers. We then did dishes, and #jammed out to some tunes. After cleanup, we had a cookie. After dinner came the crème de la crème of AQ programs, LIFEWORKS!!! It was very reflective and definitely led to some breakthrough conversations on our boat. We hit the hay quite early in preparation for our day on Statia. GOODNIGHT AQ FAM ILY YALL xx Rainey
