British Virgin Islands - 2026, Session 5

The End

Location: Road Harbor, Tortola

Today was day nine, and we started the trip off by getting up at 6:30. We were woken up in the blue lagoon by Hannah, who wanted us to clean our sleeping stuff up and start to make breakfast. After breakfast, we started dishy pit where Tucker and Stephie took the lead as salt water washers, having a lot of fun cleaning up the chunky milk in some bowls, and dry, dusty cereal in others. Once cleanup was finished, we set course for Great Harbor, where we motored for a little, then sailed for the rest. Preston, Stephie, and I offered to raise the sail, where we pulled down on the main halyard, the rope that pulls the sail up, with all our might. Once the sail was up, I was the first to skipper, where I had a good talk with Joey and Hannah about what it was like to be doing the job that you love at such a young age. Once we arrived at Great Harbor, we let out the anchor and went for our last swim of the trip. After everyone had jumped in and made their way past the jellyfish to the front of the boat, Preston and Tucker free-dived and found some items. The items consisted of glass bottles, Sprite cans, a broken-off rudder, and a few hermit crabs. After they had come back up, we had a few more minutes in the water. Pat and I were the first to head back to the boat, where we had a quick chat before seeing everyone else swim back too. Once we were all back, we came across Leo and Hannah cooking lunch, which was a delicious combo of crispy grilled cheese sandwiches and squishy carrots.

After that, we started cleanup, where, since I didn’t have a job to do, I took some pictures and helped clean up the salon. Once that was over, we talked about boat appreciation and started on the job. During BA, in the big cabins, one person would pack at a time, while the other two would clean the rest of the boat. In the small cabin, solely consisting of me, I folded, organized, and packed, then nearly took my one free last jump into the waters of BVI, but resisted and helped clean the inside of the boat. Once BA was finished, we got the approval from Joey and set off into the Moorings Yacht Club. Soon after, we realized at 4:59 that everything closed at 5:00, and we weren’t able to get into the shops in time. After separating, Pat and Leo started walking to Spanish Town, where they came across more chips, snacks, and ice cream. We then came back to the boat for dinner of summertime Thanksgiving. We also did a flag auction of the AQ flag and final squeeze.
