British Virgin Islands - 2026, Session 3

Captain's Log

Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island

Today was race day. We were awoken by a pocketful of sunshine, yet again. Jimmy's enthusiasm for the day's events quickly spread throughout the boat. Oatmeal was the meal for the morning, yet before I was able to finish my oatmeal, Anika came over with the skippers from the other boats and requested a meeting of the skippers. Tom and I then got into the dinghy and rode over to Hagan time in order to be briefed for the coming events. She pulled out a raffle in a makeshift "cup" (I've seen plates that hold paper better) and asked us to pick a piece of paper. I ended up pulling the number 4. Afterward, we went back to Harbor House to see that the boat got a dishy pit going consisting of Luke, Lex, Jacob, and Lilly. I briefed Jacob on the plan, which was to start closest to Jost van dyke the starting line was between Green Cay and Sandy Cay, and we raced over to the entrance of West End. The race was to be started at 8:45 AM. Harbor House was the last to lift anchor, and the race started at 8:48 AM. Hope pulled ahead with an early start, raising her jib a little slowly.

Close next to Hope was Hagan Time. Tom had a plan to stay far enough away from Hope and Hagan Time that they wouldn't notice us pulling ahead with our speedy jib lift. White Pearl, even after pulling number 1 in the raffle and blasting James and Liam's god-awful mixtape, was barely even considered a threat, arriving dead last by 5-10 minutes. Tom quickly transferred control of the helm over to me, standing next to me so he could occasionally give tips and instructions. While Hagan time and hope were practically touching beams, we were playing it safe far off to their starboard side, quickly pulling ahead and continuing to keep our lead throughout the entire first race, winning by miles. After a short celebration and docking into West End, it was time to go ashore for the 3rd-to-last time; we had a time limit from 1000 to half past 1300. I first went to the grocery store in order to grab snacks then deciding i was hungry i went to Pussers and had the best food i have had on this trip a plate of steaming hot lobster mac and cheese the rest of the crew joining me while I was waiting for my food and stressing over price they ended up buying four pizzas to share between them all while Jackson who was siting next to me ordered his own pizza. After my food came, I watched as both Jackson and Lilly stared a hole in my bowl of Mac and cheese. I finished early, deciding to go back to the grocery store, with the rest of the crew joining me not too long after. Jackson pointed me upstairs, where I ended up buying myself more shampoo afterward. After that, we still had plenty of time left, so I walked around by myself over to one of the greatest stores ever, second only to Bucees, where I found myself an absolutely incredible conductor's hat that has since been repurposed into a captain's hat for myself.

I very quickly searched for my sister in order to show her my new hat. I ended up finding the goblin and her friend Hazel in a coffee shop to the left of Pussers. She didnt like the hat :( Hazel did though. I then went with them back to the grocery store, WHERE SHE PROCEEDED TO BULLY AND LAUGH AT ME OVER MY PERFECTLY NORMAL AND FINE TAN LINE. I also got a surprise for the rest of my crew. We then went back to Harbor House, and I got called all the way back yet again by Anika for another skipper meeting about the races, where we would be starting between Frenchmen's Cay and Brown Bay, then ending in Great Harbor, Peter Island, where we anchored, ate dinner, and gave everybody the cinnamon rolls I bought.
