Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Today we woke up at 6:40 so we could move to Mountain Point. While that was happening, we ate cereal for breakfast, which was surprisingly good that morning. At 8:00, the whole boat except Ellie went to a monohull to spend the day. The reason Ellie didn’t come was because she was doing scuba training, but she said she had a really fun time. The monohull was a big difference because, unlike the catamaran, it only has one hull. After we got settled, we went sailing, which was super fun. Bryan, Bryton, and I raised the main sail. Gwyneth steered the boat for a while, and everyone had to be on the highest side of the boat while it was turned. The boat would heel so much, making it almost 45 degrees to the side. While sailing, we practiced a man overboard situation. To do this, we threw a fender off and practiced going to get it. Ollie’s job was to point at it so we didn’t lose sight of it. While sailing, Bryton spotted dolphins, and then they started bow-riding. It was so cool and everyone was going crazy.
After we stopped sailing and parked at a mooring, we had lunch. We ate chicken noodle soup, and after Reed and Natalie were deckies. Clark and Anika were doing the dishie pit. When we got bored, we decided to make a boom swing. That’s where there is a rope off the boom where you swing off. This was super fun until I did not let go and went into the side of the boat and hit a stanchion. Noah had a similar story and slipped into the stanchion. We were in pain but are now ay ok 👍. While sailing back, Graham ever so kindly gave me Ritz crackers. For dinner, we had chickpea curry and then had sail chat for the Vegas and dive chat for the barracudas.
