Turtle Tagging!

Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda

Today we woke up at 7 am, once we got ready, we had Lunas and Gradys cereal for breakfast. Then we watched a video on how to catch and tag turtles with another boat called Hagan Time, our boat was the first to go out and try to catch a turtle but after a hour of snorkeling looking for a turtle only hunter saw one but was unable to catch it. Once we got back to the boat, the other group went out to look for one, and after only 20 minutes, Marco, with the help of nine other students, was able to catch a turtle, which was the first one of the summer. Once they got the turtle back to the boat, we were able to take measurements, tag him, and give him the name of Todd. We took some photos and then let him go back into the ocean. After turtle tagging we had White Tuscan Bean soup for lunch, then it started to rain but after 30 minutes of waiting we made our way to the dive boat for scuba diving at a reef unfortunately I was not able to Scuba because I could not equalize my ears which meant that I could not go down but I hear that the reef was very cool and had a lot of Fish and even some Eels. Once everybody was done with diving, we made our way back to Why Knot on the Dinghy to review and take the sailing test that we had been preparing for over the past week. Every one on the boat passed with very high grades and tomorrow we have the practical sailing exam, after the test we had chick pea tiki masala with rice which was good and now we can relax for the rest of the night.
