Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound

Today we woke up at 6:30 to motor down to the historical baths. Once we moored, we started the morning with an energizing breakfast of bagels and yogurt. While we were waiting to head to the Baths, everyone hung out and learned about the history of the Baths and our plan for Spanish Town. Once we were ready, we took a dinghy over to the beach and jumped into the crystal clear water. After that, we took our group picture, and Breccan and Mengmei jumped really high. Soon after, I met up with some of my past staff members, and I was introduced to a bunch of new friends. Then we all explored the Baths, and we took the long way back to get to the beach. Once we got in the refreshingly cool water, we competed in chicken fights and Oklahoma drills. I also heard all about Sophie, Malika, Pierce, and Brian’s voyage to the jumping rock. Apparently, it was very tall and everyone was doing flips! After a few hours at the Baths, we headed back to the boat and took our Hibiclens showers, which Izzy said was her favorite part of the day because she was excited to take her first real shower of the trip. Eventually, we voyaged to Spanish Town and I met up with some of my friends from Why Knot, meanwhile, Emme and Sophia enjoyed some ice cream before heading back to the boat for sail training. Oon and Oey did an excellent job sailing, particularly Oon on the helm and Oey trimming the jibsheet. During our sailing adventures, we encountered a new friend —a seagull we named Marty. He ended up following our boat for a very long time because he enjoyed the Doritos we fed him, after an eventful and tiring day. We had a wonderful beef stroganoff for dinner, and the squeeze question was “if the person to your right was an animal, what would they be?” I thought the best answer was Pierce saying the Breccan would be a sloth because he sleeps a lot. Today was another amazing day on Hope, and I guarantee there will be more to come.
