Today, our chefs, Robbie and Dan the Man, started the morning with yogurt and bagels. After cleaning up, we began rotation day with both the advanced and open water groups going for a dive, open water with Grace and advanced with Amanda. Next, we headed to Eole for paddleboarding and zesting, but instead, most of us just hung out aboard while Dylan took a nap. Next, we went back to Hope for lunch, where Joey was chafing up some grilled cheese sandwiches (they were very good). After lunch, we had our next rotation, where we learned about charts and electrical stuff on the boat. During this, Robbie “accidentally” dropped a Coke on the ground, which exploded all over the salon and galley. Joey almost had an aneurysm when he saw the mess. After LOTS of cleaning, we went to our last rotation, which was waterskiing/wakeboarding. Emi, Pierce, Emma, Mathilda, Harper, Augustine, Rob, and Justin decided to be lame and stay on the boat instead of waterskiing. Elliot, Dylan Wyatt, Mia, Joey, and Danny D were cool and skied, and Joey showed us his wakeboarding skills, which made Mia mad that he was better than her. After this, we came back to Hope and had tacos with rice for dinner, which was very good. Then the advanced divers (Wyatt, Rob, Elliot, Justin) went on a night dive at the kraken, which was super cool and awesome. After lots of confusion about which mooring line to descend and Daniel not being able to equalize, the dive officially started. On the descent, Justin kept freaking out about the moon jellyfish (which don’t sting and are harmless). Once we reached the bottom, the lights were off, so we could see the bioluminescence on the bottom, which was awesome. Then we started swimming above and around the wreck, where we saw the remnants of the kraken statue that was on the wreck. We also saw lots of sleeping fish and a humongous stingray (but no sharks sadly). After a pretty uneventful ascent and safety stop besides Amanda almost dropping the guide light, we got back onto the dinghy and returned to Hope. Once back, we put away all of our gear, showered, and ate banana bread that Joey made, which was pretty good. Then everybody went to bed, and another fun and eventful rotation day came to an end.
