Location: West End, Tortola
Today, you get the special treat of a two-for-one! As Darby has left us and we are missing him very much, Emma and I (Maddie) are taking over the job of skipper for the last night on Pure Joy III session 3. After a fun night bonding with both our and other boats, we woke up, some of us earlier than others, and readied to deep clean the boat and return to the west end where we started this trip! Teddy was tricked by Calvin into thinking he had slept through half of the day and even Emma L had to do a double take at his convincingness. After a hearty breakfast of cereal, we jumped into boat appreciation. Splitting the tasks between all of us didn’t take much time. We took turns scrubbing, cleaning, packing, and putting everything back into place. You would never know 15 people were living on the boat for the past 16 days. The boat clean-up was strenuous, but everyone teamed up and made it a lot more enjoyable with Megan on AUX. Kiran did an amazing job picking up the slack with the dishes and saved multiple from falling into the Marina with the help of Jules. After the entire boat was deemed spotless by a counselor from Aloha (one of our fellow dive boats), we set sail and headed back to West End. Once we got here, Ruby, Alivia, and Kiran took their final ocean showers while the rest of us enjoyed the luxury of the boat showers. Everyone rushed to shore to get something to eat, and Lauren had wings that she called mediocre as they weren’t spicy enough for her liking (our hot sauce is almost gone, thanks to this girl). Once everyone had eaten, we all headed back to the boat to nap and get ready for the final barbecue. At said barbecue, Emma Y, Jules, Gabriel, and I went off exploring and managed to find a roof to sit on and stargaze. Soon after, we headed back for Mike to make the final remarks and read the Dr. Seuss book, which he reads at the end of every session (I don’t remember the title). We are now socializing with other boats and preparing to wake up bright and early tomorrow morning to head home. I can speak for everyone. When I say this session has been one, we will not soon forget it, and we can’t wait to see you all soon!!!
Love Emma Y and Maddie
