Location: West End, Tortola

Hi families. It felt great to wake up back in Aloha, and since we didn’t have such a busy schedule for the day, we were able to sleep in later than usual. Our chefs, Avi and Daniella, started off our morning with oatmeal for everyone before we had to begin our long day of cleaning. After all of the dishes were clean, we began heading back to West End. While underway, Ri gave us our last briefing of the summer on what we needed to get done for boat appreciation. After everyone had packed up all of their clothes, Liam and I began cleaning our cabin and head while the girls were cleaning up their cabin/head. Avi and River helped clean up the saloon and galley, and pretty quickly, we arrived back in West End. Once we were on the dock, we had to move some gear off the boat and finish cleaning the hard top. Before we knew it, Ri gave us the all-clear and said the boat looked good. Many of us talked about what boat appreciation was like in past years and how, even though there are only nine of us, we finished faster than in previous years. We were given our phones for about 20 minutes to check in to flights for tomorrow, then went on land for some lunch. Liam, Avi, River, Yeya, Daniella, Aria, and I all went to Pussers for lunch, while Charly and Lila stayed back on the boat to eat fried rice. After lunch, we sat around the boat and waited for the barbecue. Gene gave Avi and Aria a haircut using his pro hairdresser skills, and then we all showered, getting ready for our final night together. We headed over to the BBQ at 6:30 and had hotdogs, burgers, and curry. Once everyone had eaten, Mike gathered all of the students and staff to give his final send-offs. He talked for over an hour, explaining the different programs for students returning next summer and also the amazing things that happened this session. To end it all off, he read us the book “Oh the Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Seuss and sent us back to our boats. The head of dive side, Jake, brought us all over to Ocean Star, which is one of the Seamester boats, and it had just completed a 40-day voyage. It was really different from the boats we are living on at AQ, but it was still very cool. We are now back in Aloha and are going to spend the rest of our last night playing freaky uno and talking. Goodnight. We will all see you tomorrow.
