Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Aloha from Ahoha. We woke up today and enjoyed a delicious, fresh bowl of cereal. Afterward, we made our way over to Salt Island to hike. Before arriving, we braided everyone’s hair and made the boys wear bikini tops (including Ri!!). The sun was bright, and the wind was warm, but our hike was still very fun. We got on the boat and sailed over to The Rhone. For those who don’t know, the RMS Rhone was a UK royal mail ship. It was wrecked off the coast of Salt Island in 1867. Today, it is a popular wreck diving spot. We had to do our navigation dive there. Our objective was to find slates and navigate our way through the site. However, most of us got lost in the deep 90ft of water or never found the third slate. Eventually, my buddy Logan and I found our way back and were able to penetrate the wreck, which was awesome, but we found the boat safely. When we got on the boat, Avi and Liam made fun of the rest of us because they were the only ones able to master the dive. For lunch, we had some grilled cheese sandwiches and briefed for our next dive. We descended into the water for the second time to practice our rescue scenarios. Some of us pretended to be panicked divers or divers with uncontrolled ascents, while the other half used their skills and good judgment to save us.
My personal favorite scenario was when we basically played underwater hide and seek. Some of us would “get lost,” and the other ones had to find us using their search and recovery techniques to find us. After that, we got on the boat and showered in the ocean, which is always very fun. I read on the hardtop with Daniella before dinner. Aria and Lila made us a delicious Mexican dinner. It was exactly like the food at home, if not better, and easily the most authentic Mexican food I have ever had. Our squeeze question tonight was Would you rather speak every language or speak to animals? We ended the night by watching a movie.
