Location: Cane Garden Bay, Tortola

Today, we woke up in a beautiful place called Cane Garden Bay and started our day super early, around 6:10 am. We then got ready for my worst nightmare, which was the steep 7-mile hike we were about to do. When we arrived at the dock to start our hike, we got our phones and called our friends and families. It was amazing to catch up on everything going on back home, but then we had to start our hike. Emily, Caitlyn, Camila, Piper, and I (Lila) started the hike together but then got separated 20 minutes in. I ended up walking with a girl on Shamwari named Bee which was really fun until I found Emily and some of her friends and finished the hike with them. On the way up the hike, there were really pretty views, and we got to catch up with our friends on other boats, which was really fun! Near the top, we found some cows on the side of the street and got some pictures of them! While most of the girls and some of the guys on our boat walked up the hike because it was really steep, Max, Dylan, and Ethan ran up the whole thing, which was insane. After reaching the top, we got smoothies, and Caitlyn and I started our hike back down. We called her brother and played music the whole way down! We then reached town where we met up with some people from our boat to have lunch and spent the rest of our time in town getting snacks and going to some little stores with our friends from other boats.

When we finally got home to our boat, we got ready to go to the beach for the sandcastle competition, where Shawn drove the dingy, but our sandcastle got ruined by the water. Whoops. Afterward, we came back to our boat again, where one of my friends and I learned how to shotgun red bulls from Max and Dylan and got ready for our barbecue at Sidney’s, which was a really fun place with a couple of shops, a DJ, and food. This was Mateo’s favorite part of the day! When we arrived there, we went straight to the T-shirt store because they always sell out. Once everyone had a shirt and some people bought some hats, we went and got food. Some people also got their hair braided by the people there. Matt got his done, Miers got a few, and Emily got two little ones. Once it got darker, everyone started dancing, and it got so hot, but it was still super fun. Overall, we had a really fun day, and most people’s highlight of the day was Sidney’s! Love you, Mom, Dad, and Naia!
