Location: Sommer's Beach, Tortola
Greetings, patriarchs and matriarchs of the students on Highlander at ActionQuest. Today was grand in the lovely islands of the BVI, especially in the beautiful anchorage of Musk Melon (one of my favorite places on Earth). Today, we started off with our first deep dive of the trip, where we got to play with eggs at 70 feet, and it was amazing. Emily had a lot of fun with the eggs; she said that it was her favorite part of the day (and that she also loved seeing her sister). One thing that just baffled me was that Ethan used only 600 PSI of his air. I swear he has gills. Next, we started doing dinghy practice; for those of that don’t know what a dinghy is, it is a tiny boat. I was on a different boat, but when I looked over, Shawn was doing donuts. After that, we went zesting, which is just small sailboats. Miers was killing it on the zests, Mat and Mateo turtled, and they had to get pulled in by a dingy. After that, we went wakeboarding, and I ate it trying to jump the wake. I hit the water so hard that I got thrown out of the boots. Mateo almost did a 360 on the kneeboard.
Mat was doing awesome on the wakeboard as well. After that, we got ready for the beach BBQ, which was the highlight ofCamila’s Camila’s favorite part of the day was socializing with everybody at the beach. Piper was having a great time watching everybody play football. At this BBQ, we always play a game of tackle football. The teams were very mixed, with people on the dive side and Sail Side on either team. Dylan was an absolute unit on offense. And I was on defense, I was on the smaller side so my move was the swim move or a rip if they were a tiny bit bigger. Not to be boastful, but I had five sacks. We won five to one, and I enjoyed every single second of it. We came back to the boat and had real Hibicleans showers, and now we are rafting with another boat.
