Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Today we woke up to Garret’s music once again, and we all got ready for the day. We ate breakfast made by Eli and Carson and then got everything we needed from our boat for scuba diving. After this, we went over to Second Wind (The dive boat we use), and then we set up all of our scuba gear. Everyone was really excited about this dive because it was our first open-water dive! My group (Emily and Claire) descended with our instructor, and when we got down, we saw a very cool coral reef that had a ton of fish and other animals swimming around it. After we looked around a little, we practiced some skills that we had been learning. Once we finished with the skills, we got to swim around the reef a little bit. After this, we all went back to the dive boat and talked for a while. (We couldn’t go back to our boat yet because other people were using our boat to sail). After Luke, Greyson, and I talked for a while, we ate lunch, and Piper, Nat, Emily, Claire, and Carson made Turk head bracelets. Once lunch was done, Jackson, Drake, Juni, and I looked over the boat and saw more fish and jellyfish (I think the jellyfish were the same kind that I fell on yesterday). Later, we took the open water scuba test, which means now all we have to do are a few more dives, and we’ll be scuba certified! After we all finished the test, we said bye to our friends on Second Wind, and we went back to our boat, where we ate dinner and did a sail chat.
