Today our ship woke up to a delicious breakfast of pancakes. They were gone in two seconds flat. After we had everything cleaned up, we sat down with Captain Nick who taught us how to read and use the navigation charts, and then we planned tomorrow’s sail. Afterward, we all went waterskiing. Pete finally got up on skis, and the water was so clear it was like glass. Back on the boat, Federico learned how to do a backflip! We all clapped and cheered. We also set up a prank on another boat (shhh) that should go into action tomorrow. We went back to the boat after waterskiing and ate grilled cheese, which again was surprisingly good. We then went to another boat and learned the man overboard procedures. We practiced by throwing a fender overboard and saving it. We even named the fender. When we were done practicing the drills, we went straight to the dive boats to do our first open water dive! We were all very anxious getting ready to dive, but we all overcame our fears, and the second we were in the water and saw the beautiful scenery, we completely forgot what we were panicking about in the first place. It was unanimously agreed that it was the most stunning thing we had ever seen. We had turkey and stuffing and mashed potatoes for dinner, and we all went around and said what we were thankful for. We were all thankful for our health, our families, the people around us, and this beautiful trip that we have all experienced together. We all agreed that this was the best day yet.
