This morning the shipmates woke up in a hurry because we had an early morning sail to the Baths. On the way there we learned a series of names for the mainsail. Once we got to the Baths, everyone got a chance to climb around and explore, which everyone had a great time swimming, climbing, and hiking. Once we got back aboard the ship, there was a three-hour sail to the next destination. On the way, we had our first chance to set up the sails mainly on our own but still had some assistance from Craig. When we were about an hour and a half into the sail, the winds started to pick up a lot, and the boat started to lean twenty degrees. During that, we started to trade and practice everything as a team. At the same time, we were doing this a squall formed and was heading towards us. Everyone ran and got rain jackets on, but the storm just missed us, and we never got rained on, so everyone rushed for no reason. Once we were pulling into the bay, Craig showed us how to reef a sail, so when we are in strong winds, we will know what to do. Tonight we tied up to the other boats for the night; it’s going to be fun!
