Location: St. Barth's
We all woke up around 6:45. At 7:05 we had oatmeal and cereal for breakfast. It was very good. After tidying up the boat from breakfast we all got ready to go surfing. Everyone was excited to go surfing. For many of us this would be our first time surfing. As we entered the car, I looked up and saw a clear blue sky. It looked as if it was going to be a beautiful day. As we toured the island on the way to the beach, we got to see the island for what it really is Ð not just the tourist part. The island has great hills and open plains that cut you out from the world. When we arrived at the beach I was shocked from how beautiful it was and how peaceful the atmosphere was. The water was crystal clear and as you looked upon it you saw small islands out in the distance. Yet, even its beauty couldn’t hide one thing the fact that there were no waves at all. The water was very still and silent. So it was impossible to surf. So we just played around with the surfboards and saw who could stand up the longest. We also tested our manly strength by tying our towels together and then climbing up walls and other objects. All in all, it was a very chill day at the beach. Well, it’s 3:30 right now and the boat is clean and ready to depart for Statia, an island nearby. We should arrive there tonight. Well, this is Skipper Mike Lang signing out.
