As our journey together comes to a close, the entire boat is reflecting on the adventures we have had and making the most out of our final days on board Rossi. Skylar and Morgan decided to make mementos out of articles of clothing by having the entire crew sign them, which will remain close to their hearts in order to remember their time here. After three weeks of scuba diving, everyone on board has finally received their Open Water certifications! Tash wrapped us the group I was diving with by inflating her Surface Marker Buoy and getting knighted as an official certified diver. She followed Diego and Mitch in the knighting process after concluding our last training dive. We all then got to finish up the summers diving by exploring the famous shipwreck of the RMS Rhone and seeing myriad beautiful fish. On the sailing side of our program, Ella and Alex both took control of the crew. They made sure that all of the jobs onboard got done, and the boat was sailed properly. After many races, the crew really pulled together for the biggest of the session. Astrid did a great job working on sail trim to help the entire crew achieve our highest place on the entire trip. Our final night at sea ended with Gino and Tyler demonstrating their mooring skills by tying us on to the ball for a safe and comforting night sleep. In order to pick up the right ball, Salome guided us right onto it and was able to hook it right out of the water, even when the skipper lost sight of it. They all showed amazing teamwork and skills that have been beautifully developed over the last three weeks. It has truly been amazing for Carolyn, Anna, and I to see the growth of our shipmates over the last three weeks. The knowledge and experiences they gained should stay with them for the rest of their lives. It has been an amazing time, and we will miss each and every one of you. See ya’ll soon!
