Location: West End, Tortola
As we round the point to West End for the final time, it truly is a bittersweet moment for the crew of Second Wind. We feel a sense of accomplishment when we look back at all the miles sailed, dives logged and certifications earned while at the same time we can’t shake the thought lurking in the back, reminding us that all too soon we will have to say goodbye. It has truly been a fantastic trip. We go to the same islands and the same dive site time and time again, but it will be this trip with this crew that stands out among all the rest. The students have become more like friends, and we’ve created our own fantastically strange family on board Second Wind. It is hard to imagine looking around the cockpit table and not seeing each face looking back. Parents, thank you for sharing your students with us. Second Winders, thank you for all the laughs, memories, and good times. One more time for the final countdown (you know what to do) — one, two, three –!
