As our trip comes to a close, it’s hard to realize we’ve been on the water with this crew for 21 days. There have been many memories formed, friends made, skills learned, and stories to be told about any of the past three weeks. We’ve had a boat full of dive certifications, with all of our Vega divers getting their open water certificate, our Carinas receiving their advanced open water certificates, as well as their night, boat and fish identification specialties. In total, our boat of 11 amazing divers received a total of 21 certifications, which is amazing! My dive group, which consisted of Maddy, Ali, and Erin, are three of the most naturally talented divers I have ever met. The other Vega group, which others instructed, have also been called “a champion group of divers.” That group was composed of Duncan, Webb, Brandon, and Janna. Our entire group of advanced divers, including Niamh, Jil, Joey, and Quinn, have also shown great love and passion for diving; that is evident in their skills underwater. I am truly proud of all of them. Henry, one Quest student, has shown his love for others and is always a helping hand around the boat. One of his best skills around the boat is on the helm. He, as well as Ali, have shown their knowledge of sailing. I am amazed by their ability to obtain his IYT crew certification. With a boat full of students learning diving and sailing, it’s amazing to see how they grow as people as well. As always, it will be sad to see everyone go, but our full staff on Laurasia is excited to see where our crew of 12 incredible shipmates go in the future.
