Location: Arlie Beach
Our final day on Eureka II began breakfast during sunrise, followed by a short motor to the caves, where rather than snorkeling, I elected to explore the rocks and caves on the beach. Although the caves are technically a snorkeling site, the coral beach that it sits just off of has several large rocks and a really interesting cave that makes the beach a lot of fun not only to explore but also to relax on. About half of us elected to explore shore while the other half did their third and final snorkel of the trip, getting views of even more coral and a plethora of fish. We then sailed back to the mainland, and each student got a chance to helm the boat. Today was beautiful: blue sky and a warm sun, with a good breeze for sailing. Our last day on the water was capped off with a short walk into the town of Arlie Beach, where we spent some time exploring and shopping and then had a nice dinner out together. With many more adventures to come, we will miss our time here in the Whitsundays, but we are all looking forward to the next couple of weeks. A big thank you to our skipper Mel and crew Thomas and Neils for making our time on the Eureka II so amazing!
