Location: White Bay, Peter Island

We had a very chill day in the BVI today. All of the kids woke up around 6:10 am. We were on a mission to get ready and take down the hammocks before the counselors came upstairs and told us to. We had a very easy breakfast for today, which was cereal: Cheerios, Special K, and Mini Wheats. After breakfast, we had our deckies, Mia and Noah, sweep all the crumbs into the ocean, where the seagulls found their heaven in the crumbs left in the ocean. We then motored over to the dock to fill up on fresh water for the next few days. On the dock, we had a boat rules review session and knots that we will be using during the trip, review session. Afterward, we motored back onto a mooring ball and chilled out for a bit before we got underway. At first, all of us were at the front of the boat, getting splashed by the big waves. After half an hour, people split off to do different things. Maggie, Noah, and Jailee made yearn bracelets for everyone and themselves. Our chefs, Faith and Molly, made us some delicious sandwiches for lunch while we were sailing to our first stop: Peter Island. When we made it to our final destination, we went over dive rules and had a dive brief before a lot of us were getting back in the water for the first time since last summer. Aiden went with Liz to obtain his open water 1 and 2 before joining us on the review dive, and they also saw a huge stingray on their dive!! I had a great group that included our leader Sephena, and my buddy: Faith, Molly, Maggie, Lily, and Anzie. We performed some basic scuba skills such as full mask clear, complete buoyancy, and partner emergency out-of-air routine. After the dive, we all took our first saltwater shower of the trip, and the chefs started making Sloppy Joe’s. We finished the day off with the daily boat squeeze. The question was: If you could own an exotic animal as a pet, which animal would you own? And then your appreciation for the day. We got some pretty crazy answers, like Grayson saying he wanted a leopard. Captain Jake said he wanted a tiger in honor of the Tiger King. Faith wanted a panda and many more answers. And now we are playing cards and hanging out outside. See ya tomorrow!
