Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island

Ready, set, go! It is the only way to describe today, or maybe ready, and sail, go is better. We kicked off this morning with an intense 30-minute sail across the bay. We sadly pulled one of the shorter ends and ended up starting in a hard position. Angie and Eli worked on pulling the main sail by hand until Reid, and I worked vigorously wenching and pulling the main and jib. Off to the races we went. Riley, our wonderful skipper, stayed out on the trampoline shouting out orders. After a tough battle chasing down Meow, we accepted 3rd place but later found out Gap Year was disqualified due to using their engines “unknowingly.” Our matching pink uniforms kept our spirits high as we sang, “Yeah, Glow!”.

We anchored in West End and took a short shore time break while shopping and eating lunch. We all loaded up on snacks, some of us purchasing frozen chicken nuggets and five bags of grapes collectively. Mar bought a beautiful anklet from Arawak. Lorelai bought cute matching bracelets. When we got back to the boat, it was a quick briefing as Riley showed us the next route for our race. Filled with tons of tacks and jibes, our boat had lots of work to put in. Alpenglow never fails to impress as we came in 2nd once more, leading sail side A once again. Krisi, Evan, and Reid did a phenomenal job steering our ship to victory. Laila and Gabby scouted out at other boats as we passed, shouting updates.

For dinner, Laila, Sedora, and I prepared Breakfast consisting of eggs, sausage, biscuits, and pineapple. We ended with a sail chat to review for our theory exam tomorrow!
