Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Today we woke up at 7 am. We started off the day eating breakfast, which consisted of oatmeal and cereal. After eating breakfast, there was a skipper’s meeting on Steady to explain how the race was going to work. Then the first race started at Sandy Spit ending all the way down in West End, Tortola. This was a downwind race. The first race was a lot better in my opinion because it was more competitive and really quick. All the boats then filled up on water, and everyone had some shore time. Around 12:45, everyone except the skippers went back to the boat, and the skippers got briefed and prepared the crew for the second race. At 1:30, the second race had started; everyone raced from West End, Tortola to Great Harbor, Peter Island, which was an upwind race. Once we arrived at Peter Island, we anchored and started to prepare dinner. Tonight’s dinner was Mexican night, which consists of tortillas, refried beans, black beans, rice, vegetables, beef, and cheese. After dinner, we ended with a squeeze as always and started cleaning dishes. Later in the night, we had a sail review chat to prepare for our sailing test. Finally, we ended the night making our beds, setting up our hammocks, and went to bed.
