Location: Koh Tao, Thailand

We had a great view at breakfast this morning, overlooking the beach and our dive sites. After breakfast, we had a warming-up stretch session follows by a few intense games of Ninja. We then headed to the New Heaven Dive School, who we will be diving with for the next five days. We started out with an on-land refresher followed by a refresher dive at Aow Louk Bay, just a dusting off of the dive skills. After practicing our mask and regulator retrieval and buoyancy skills, we enjoyed the scenery, full of fish, and Christmas tree worms. We followed that up with a fun dive at Shark Island, which was either fortunately or unfortunately sharkless but was full of tons of fish, corals, sponges, and a few eels and blue spotted stingrays. Sadie also completed her first two open water certification dives with Tor and did awesome completing all other skills. After an enjoyable boat ride back to the dive shop, we helped clean up and put away all of the dive gear, then headed back to the hotel and jumped in the pool to cool off. The highlight of the day was probably the evening yoga class, though. It was right above the dive shop on an open platform that overlooked the bay. I may or may not have dozed off during parts of it, but we all came out stretched and relaxed. During dinner, we have decided on an unofficial official meal for this trip: pad Thai with a mango shake, eaten while wearing elephant pants.
