Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Yesterday, we all arrived, mostly at the same time; however, five people came later than the others. It was very hot, but it cooled off as it got later into the day. It was very fun to get to know people over dinner, where we talked about what we were excited about. We all hung out as a group until it was time to go to bed.
The next day we woke up by the sunrise and ate breakfast, after we had a meeting talking about expectations, rules, goals, and the program in general. Later, we set sail at 11 and learned how to sail. Hopie and I (Lulu/Louisa) directed the sail that was being lifted up by Joshua, Grayson, Ella S, and Lucy, and Ollie was steering the boat with Matty P. Later, we did our swim test when we got to our destination, The Bright, Norman Island. Thompson is describing this as a movie, Meredith and I talked to Mia, the staff, while Josie, Ella W, and Ella S looked through the net at the waves. Wilkes has a lot of sailing experience, so he is being super helpful with the boat. After we all passed the swim test, we went snorkeling in the caves, which was so cool. After, we showered in the ocean, which was interesting. We all hung out until we watched videos and took the quizzes for our open water with Sela. After we had dinner, where we had Sloppy Joe’s, we had to watch a video and do a quiz. Now, we are playing card games while making banana bread.
We had so much fun today!!!
