Location: Marina Cay
Today was a perfect balance between learning and fun! We got to sleep in in the morning. I had a peaceful sleep on my hammock under the stars. We ate breakfast burritos. After cleaning out the bathrooms and cabins, we were surprised with a boom swing. Shona, Mason, and Annie set up a rope hanging from the boom over the water. We were challenged to climb to the top of the rope after jumping in the water. Only Mason succeeded, but we all had fun trying to pull ourselves up. We also tried flips off the rope. I, along with about everyone else, failed to flip and ended up backflopping. It stung a lot, but we all had a good laugh. We also backflipped off the dinghy. After lunch, we sailed. Everyone took turns on the helm, on the jib sheets and main sheet, and many other jobs when anchoring/lowering the sail. We also practiced man overboard drills, and we took turns on the rescue jobs. We are now anchored at Marina Cay. The sun has been shining all day. I’m excited for dinner. We’re having chili and rice. After that, we have a Lifeworks Forum onboard. I’m not sure what we are doing, but it should be interesting.
