Hey, y’all, it’s Cammie here bringing you your daily updates from Highlander. Today, we woke up to a quiet breeze and were lucky enough not to have music blasted in our ears at 6 in the morning. We ate cereal for breakfast, and Flo Clo was less than thrilled to find that half of our milk was chunky, yummy! Today was our final certification dive, and we completed our second peak performance buoyancy dive. We geared up quickly, considering our group moved slower than molasses and strode into the water. Underwater, we did our final tests, and after successfully completing them, we were officially open water advanced divers. We had so much fun moon diving (taking off our fins and bouncing in the sand) and wobbling as a group.
After our dive, we were shuttled over to our giant chaos raft (Shamwari and Odyssey joined together). From there, all of us completed our PPB books and hung out while the other boats completed their open water certifications. While on the mega raft, Chloe, redden, and Brayden went zesting, where they capsized each other while singing Pirates of the Caribbean. After testing, we all practiced our flips on the dingy while we watched Violet from Odyssey face plant onto the dingy while attempting a backflip. For lunch, we ate quesadillas and quickly got on the sail to arrive early for tonight’s barbecue. Blake and Brayden got to dive the playgrounds while the rest of us stayed back on the boat to relax and swim. Chloe, jasmine, and Riley showed us their strong back muscles while doing pull ups to reach the saltines i was feeding them.
After our midafternoon swim, we got ready for the beach barbecue on Sandy Spit. Once most of the group was ready, they hoped in the dingy to go to the beach; however, Riley, Brooklyn, and I took a detour on the way there. As we arrived at Hagan time, Rachel, Stitch, and I decided to switch all of their pots, pans, plates, and utensils around as a prank and quickly skedaddled out before we were caught by the other boats. We arrived at the beach to find Floridian Chloe soaked because Aiden told her to hop out a little too early and she jumped into cheats deep water. At the barbecue, we ate burgers, hot dogs, and other food that were mid at best. We buried Henry under piles of sand, and the entire barbecue had a hard laugh. Redden and King Maluku finished the barbecue with a backflip off the sand, adding a positive aura, and we caught the first dingy back to start our ocean showers. That’s a wrap for day 12.
