Location: Calvi, Corsica, France
Today we had a full and fun-packed day after our night sail from the south of Corsica. As soon as we woke up, we went straight into Calvi to explore the old city and check out the shops and restaurants. The old city of Calvi is built on the edge of a cliff with a big stone wall surrounding it. Calvi is a hilly city with breathtaking views of nearby mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. After exploring Calvi as a group, we broke off and enjoyed everything the town had to offer. Many people tried their first French crepes while others bought gifts for their families. After our time in Calvi, many people headed to the grocery store to stock up on snacks for our last night sail from Corsica back to mainland France. We then headed to the beach, where we relaxed, swam, lounged, and tubed. The beach was beautiful and had crystal clear water and an array of fun water sports. At the beach, we swam to a nearby rock island to hang out on and jump off of. After a long sail the night before, many of us were tired, so we rented a few lounge chairs to rest and listen to music while the people with tons of leftover energy went tubing on the water. Today has been a great day full of some of my favorite activities, but I have to go and sail for twenty hours, so I guess this is goodbye.
