Today was the fourth day upon the boat “Shape Up” for the twelve boys and girls that were thrust together. It also happened to be the first day that the fifteen people on board had to get underway before they had breakfast, as well as their first rotation day. Right before we all started to move, Kalen’s hat blew off, and he had to dive after it, giving him an amazing wake-up. As soon as we started sailing, our designated chefs of the day, Layla and Trey, made a rad breakfast of bagels and yogurt. Even though the start to our day was sudden and quick, that didn’t mean the day as a whole was constrained to just sailing and swallowing down information. It was relaxing as a whole. Water skis and wakeboards were brought out, and we all started to put into practice some of the dive skills that we are learning, though we didn’t actually dive. Lauren, Michelene, and Andrew all started doing flips and dives off of the boat and dingy, some of them even learning how to do it for the first time. The day was filled with fun in both the water and on the boat. At one in the afternoon, a super amazing lunch of Macaroni and Cheese was made. Garrison, our dive instructor, had us work with diving rigs and checking over the equipment after lunch, and Allie, our Mate taught us more knots that will benefit us on our journey around the BVI. Our super great dinner of chili was also provided for us by our chefs, and everyone there had a great time talking and laughing about events that happened previously in the day.
