We woke up at 7 am and were already grieving about it being our last day. At 7:30, Smash and I headed over to Lomav to pull numbers from a hat to see where we were in the lineup for the race. We pulled 6th; it was going to be difficult but not impossible. After all the sail side A and B boats and the Minerva boats headed to the start line. We started very far behind the pack with Breakaway leading. About a quarter of the way into the race, we started cruising at about 9 knots and managed to pass Tropical Oasis. We were on and off for a while switching from last to second to last, but we were leading at the halfway and managed to tack before them. They then managed to get in front of us again, but we passed Saleya even though they were playing dirty. We all stayed in a pack for the rest of the race and ended up coming in 8th. After ending in Great Harbor, we motored back to Soper’s Hole, where we started the trip. While motoring, we listened to music and did a huge cleanup and scrubbed everything down. We’re about to dock and get some shore time, but this day has already gone by so fast, and I don’t want it to end. We go to our last barbecue tonight and then that’s it we leave tomorrow.
