Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Today we dove the RMS Rhone, which is the site where a royal mail steam packet ship exploded off Salt Island. On the night of October 19th, 1867, a category three hurricane put this massive 310-foot ship to its final resting place. The brave villagers of Salt Island pulled the survivors and the bodies ashore, building them a beautiful gravesite. This afternoon we were able to see this historical site! Following this awesome adventure, Dolphins went to Second Wind to dissect sea stars while the rest snorkeled. We are ending our fantastic day with a night dive and the rescue of our poor dinner bowls!
