Location: The Dogs
Today our boat woke up at about 4:30 am to sail over to a beautiful island called Anegada. It is the most northern islands of the BVI and the least visited. Nick woke up first, then Fish and then Xavier. They all went around to everyone’s hammock, attempting to wake them up so that they could watch the sunrise. All the girls were sprawled out on the blue lagoon since it was our turn that night. Soon after everyone was awake and had eaten breakfast (scrambled eggs and blueberry muffins), we all got dressed in our bathing suits and headed down to the beautiful beach. We spent the entire morning at the beach, burying each other in the sand and playing in the water. At 1:30, we all sat down for lunch (sandwiches) that the chefs prepared and celebrated one of our shipmate’s birthday. Everyone on the boat pitched in to make a cake, which managed to get pink frosting and blue sprinkles all over the kitchen. We then showered while the chefs made dinner (chicken Caesar salad), and found time to quickly whip up a batch of triple-double-stuffed-Oreo brownies. It took us about 35 minutes to clean the mess from all the baking we did that day, but it was worth it. Later that night, we had a sailing chat, where we learned about the different points of sail and parts of the boat. At the end of the day, we went right to sleep, wanting to be well-rested for another adventure tomorrow in Marina Cay.
