Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
We woke up early this morning so we could get some time in port to shop, eat, and call home! When we returned to the boat, we went for a short dive where we learned how to use different tools for research. Then we counted the number of fish at Mountain Point. We then arrived at the beach and got to explore. We collected a bunch of conch shells and saw a surprising amount of jellyfish. Izzy sped us over to the mangroves to snorkel and learn about the ecosystem of the mangroves. My group saw a jellyfish that was bigger than our heads, and a couple of huge schools of fish! During our time to hang with our friends from other boats, we saw two dolphins off the side of Orka Tew! Tonight, we have a beach bbq with the entire program, and we’re all looking forward to seeing our new friends from the other boats!
