Location: Ladder Bay, Saba
This morning we finally made it to Saba. We had been taking three-hour shifts all night. Beginning at around six, the first-night watch team began. We raised the mainsail and the jib and made our way. At 8:50, one of team one’s members was sent down to wake up team two. This continued throughout the whole night. A few of us got sick, and all of us were exhausted by the time we got here. Most of us had forgotten to get breakfast during the passage, so at about 11:30, we had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch. After we had washed dishes and talked for a little while, we slept until 4:00. A few of us went snorkeling for the first time. There were many coral reefs and colorful fish. We were exhausted by the time we got back to the boat. After washing our hair in the ocean, we took our first freshwater showers with Hibiclens in the heads down below. We got our new dry towels and changed into our pajamas. We ate veggie burgers for dinner and were glad to be able to sleep after a very long and exhausting day.
