Everyone rose with less sleep due to Elton John’s birthday fireworks across the way from our fleet. After breakfast, Neptunes, Rescues, and Dolphin students went to different boats for the entire day. Our newest crew member, Maria, achieved her PADI Open Water certification. Each class was further briefed on their upcoming dive.
The Neptune students did the navigation dive, which involves navigating around the ocean floor with a compass. The Rescue students also did a navigation dive along with learning to rescue a tired diver. Dolphins also did a navigation, listened to an oceanography lecture, and took a leeward to windward hike.
Once everyone returned to Luna Kahuna, we ate a killer meal of chili, rice, and salad. After dinner, everyone assembled at the bow for the squeeze. The squeeze question revealed people’s appetite for a muffin and their curiosity. Now the Rescue and Dolphin students are about to leave for their respective meeting while Neptunes chill on the boat.
