Location: Sidney's, Jost van Dyke
Our morning began with an extremely mountainous task, but we started the day off right with a hearty breakfast of cereal. Once cleanup ended, we set out for the dock that was our designated meeting point. We had over 140 students gather to listen to Mike brief us on the 8-mile hike we were soon to begin. The start of the hike was a brutal incline that tested our resolve to continue forward. Some students had to quit, but that was due to medical issues. At the summit of the hike, we reached the highest point in the BVI. Many of us bought smoothies to relax before we began the trek back down the mountain. Once we came down from the mountain, we ate at restaurants, got ice cream, and purchased snacks to stock our vessels. Students were shuttled back to their boat from 12:30 to 1:30. As we were leaving the hiking area, Chris dropped his hat in the water, resulting in ChaCha hopping in Sumo (our dingy) to recover it. Later on, we had a sandcastle competition and made a replica of Sumo. To be fair, our replica of Sumo was crafted with the best precision and looked amazing (we don’t know who won yet). To finish a great day, we had everyone meet up at Sydney’s Peace and Love.
