Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island

Today was a great day! We woke up and walked outside to the incredible view of the day before! We had a lovely breakfast of cereal and then went down below and learned more about the thing we’ve been living on now for 13 days, the boat! Today we looked at a chart, which was thrilling to learn about! Since our test is coming up soon we got to study for it for about 30 minutes. Down below we had a lovely time studying the parts, and up on deck people were making some epic knots. Let me tell you, there are a lot of parts of the boats, so we didn’t slack at all during the 30 minutes. The next part of the day was spent sailing to where this whole journey began. We raised the sails all by ourselves without any help from our staff. Next, we had some shore time, which was very different from the first time we had shore time there because now we’re all like one big family today, and the first time we were just getting to know each other. Then all the skippers had a meeting about the sailing race we were about to have. We learned where the wind was coming from, where we were starting from, and then the order of the boats for the start. I got us the spot closest to the wind, which put us at a big advantage because we got all the wind first. Sadly we got in third place because other boats were smarter about their course. Next, we put down our anchors and took some showers. Dinner tonight was Mexican night! We had tortillas with lettuce, onion, peppers, beef, salsa, cheese, refried and black beans, and rice. It was delicious. Overall today was a great day here in the BVI sailing with ActionQuest and we are all so sad that this trip is coming to an end. Tonight we are going to talk to Mike about very fun stuff! Thanks for reading!! date: Aug 11, 2017
