Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
Today started with one of very few “sleep in” days, an extra thirty minutes or so to relax from the day before. For breakfast, Aaron, Anna, and Steve left the boat for a staff meeting, and we enjoyed french toast while listening to music. We headed off later than usual and motored off to the Chimneys to go scuba diving. We were left to run our dives by ourselves and navigate our way back to the boat with success. We quickly left and ate lunch while on our way to Muskmelon Bay on Guana Island. After raising our sails, we did our first day of sailing where we weren’t into the wind, which is called a run. We succeeded in our run and had our sails wing on wing, which maximizes the wind that hits our sail because the mainsail is on one side and the jib on the other. When we reached Muskmelon Bay, we immediately jumped in the water and took our showers with no rush at all. One of our shipmates went to the clinic, and on the way back from the doctor, she got me a “honey bun,” which was one of the best parts of my day. To end our day, we will have a dinner of chili and rice, and we will have a movie night.
