Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
We awoke in Marina Cay after an inspiring Lifeworks session last night. The staff had a quick meeting this morning. We managed to eat breakfast and clean the boat alone for the first time. We then set off for Guana Island. Upon arriving in Muskmelon Bay, the Dolphins did a research dive using quadrats. This was then followed by the most anticipated activity of the day – turtle tagging. This involved being dragged behind dinghies with snorkels while looking for turtles. Sam saw a huge turtle that was, unfortunately, too fast for us. When we finally captured one, it was 28cm long, and we were excited. We watched intently as measurements were taken, and a microchip was inserted into our little friend’s neck. Overall it was an awesome way to end another fabulous day in the Caribbean!
