Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Yesterday we arrived in Vixen Point and rafted up next to the three other boats from sail side A. Later in the night the rain started, then the lightning, then very soon the winds rocked the boats back and forth next to each other. From under the deck, I could see us sliding away from the boat next to us. We circled for a while in the pouring rain and wind gusts up to 40 knots. It was very suspenseful but personally, I loved the excitement. The hatch door opened and walked down am our amazing skipper Emma who had done a great job. She announced to us that we and the other three boats were secured onto moorings and that everything was fine. Surprisingly enough, I slept great. We woke up the next morning and it was still raining. We had a dance party in the rain on the stern and French toast for breakfast. After that was watersports (waterskiing, wakeboarding, and kneeboarding). Half of the people did that and the other half tied knots on the boat, then we switched. After mac & cheese for lunch, we all went snorkeling in the mangroves which were very fun. Next was shower time of the stern of the boat. We had veggie burgers, beans, and mashed potatoes for dinner and brownies after that which leads me to right now as I’m sitting here writing this.
