The British Virgin Islands makes waking up at 6:30 a paradise rather than a chore. Just after breakfast today we all went sailing on Pico boats, which are small 10-12 foot boats with a capacity of 2 people. I sailed with my friend Manuel, and we had a blast because of the high winds. It was also really funny to sail to other people we knew and capsize their boat! After the Picos, our boat went to the beach and practiced an intense game of beach volleyball, which was awesome except for the heat of the sand! Then, after lunch, I went sailing on the Rhodes sailboats, which is around 19 feet long and holds 6-8 people. On the Rhodes, our skipper Eli taught us all about tacking, parts of the boat, points of sail, and so much more. Normally, instruction is boring for me but we keep it fun and laid back, and you can’t beat sailing down here. Whether you are learning or not, it is paradise! Following the sail, I got dressed up for the dance party on the beach. When we got to the beach, we had some incredible burgers to eat, probably the best burgers I have ever eaten! Then the DJ arrived to start the dance. At this point, I didn’t know what to expect, if people would be engaged in the dance or not. Well, it turned out to be awesome. I danced until my shirt felt like a wet rag and I was exhausted! The night ended after three hours of dancing. Tonight was one of my favorite days so far!
