Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
On Breezy, our staff started moving the boat early in the morning as we all slept. Will somehow ended up sleeping on the blue lagoon counter with a sweatshirt in the extreme heat, also being mistaken as a pillow in the middle of the night. This morning Instructor Dan started making french toast as soon as everyone was awake, with Claire T and Mirah helping make today’s breakfast. After a heavy reminder about sunscreen, we made sure to lather up. Then we hopped on our dinghy and rode over to the beach. Quickly after arriving, we may have stolen some eggs from a carton, which ended up on Oliver’s head. Luckily he had the ocean to wash them off.
On the beach, we had a group huddle for the boat Olympics. Sophia and Frances brought lots of energy and team spirit to our boat. The first activity was tug-o-war. Rabih was our anchor supporting the team. Unfortunately, we only went 1-1 in our tug-o-war games. There was also a staff vs. camper game. With a lack of space, I ended up as high energy and moral support for the team. The next game was egg toss. Max went out in a sad manner, with the egg ending up on his forehead. The final boat Olympic was a dizzy bucket where we had to bring water from the ocean to our buckets. Shawn had a very calming day participating in several activities and having fun with shipmates in and out of his boat. We took a dingy back to the boat to start making mac and cheese for lunch. Claire S. and I had some fire PBandJ. Next, we sailed to the next spot to anchor for the night, starting with dive chat. Jonah, during this sail, had some insanely amazing music suggestions, and we were all vibing. We anchored for the night, having delicious burgers, mashed potatoes, and baked beans for dinner. We ended the squeeze with three squawks. Then we headed to bed.
