Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound

Another hardtop sleepless night as most of the shippies woke up to rain at around 3 am, but we persevered and moved from the power tower to the cockpit, some of us even sleeping on the floor. We were then woken up by Bianca’s incredible playlist at 6, munching on some questionable eggs and delicious blueberry muffins cooked by Daria and Oliver until we were ready to set up our dive gear for our 7:30 am dive, working on the search and recovery skills we learned about the night before. Daria and I had some trouble communicating during our circle pattern, searching for a blue weight, but while we were practicing the U pattern, we saw a STING RAY!!! After that, we took off our gear, and as Daria, Cole, Ethan, Lila, Grace, and I ascended first, we got to work on the dishie pit from breakfast that we didn’t have time to do before our early dive. We then sailed to Leverick Bay, Virgin Gorda (Lila and I were steering with our feet), where we got some on land time, eating at Pussers and buying some sick shirts and bucket hats from Arawak. After we had some phone time, nothing crazy, as we waited to sail to a cute little Bay Area with a small beach, we were able to dinghy to. We played some major games of volleyball and captured a zest (a super small sailboat for those of you with limited sailing knowledge), watching Matt sail majestically away after he took the zest back from us. There were some dunking shenanigans along the way, but we eventually rode the dinghy back to Event Horizon, where we sailed back to Leverick Bay to get ready for the first BBQ of the session! Amelia gave Bianca a hair wrap, and I gave Tommy some adorable braids.

I hope everyone reading this has just as amazing an evening as the shippies (and staff) have had so far, and we will see you during the next Event on the Horizon!!!!! <3
